VESPA & LAMBRETTA ALLOY WORKS
Alloy works for your Vespa and or Lambretta is a specialist field, and here at ATOMS we have pioneered inhouse master cylinder alloy polishing and shaping works. A piece of quality alloy is sourced, then measured and installed onto the lathe, ready for the specialist works to commence. This is a painstaking and time consuming artform which has to be done correct the first time. On Tommy's series one Lambretta we had the fortune of using his original switch & gear housing to try and gauge a template. This was achieved, then came the real test of seeing if our product actually worked. We did the front brake side first then the rear brake (clutch) side next. Once we established that all was ok, both sides had to be removed for polishing and cleaning the metal excactly to our customers requirements.
The picture on the left is how we start and the picture on the right is the finished product, pretty amazing i'm sure you will agree and all done in our workshop here in Maidstone kent.
We had another customer who came to us with a Brake housing, bought from the far east for his series 2 Lambretta/Gilera conversion, this cost him in the region of £50.00, what a bargain or so he thought unfortunately it didn't fit, he sent it back requesting that the model he required the part for was a series 2 & not an Indian GP, he received the excact same one back!! we then modified it for him to fit his series 2 handlebars which obviously set him back more money than he was expecting.
We here at ATOMS, CANNOT compete with those prices but we can assure our customers that the product produced here in Kent, will not only look good but will infact fit and work! (novel eh?)
